In March 2015, 30 MIA members, staff and friends climbed Mt Kinabalu as a Member Activity and we would like to share the highlights of the climb with you. From 24-25 September 2017, to celebrate MIA 50th year anniversary, 50 MIA members, staff and friends will attempt to scale the highest mountain in Malaysia.
Join us to climb the highest mountain in Malaysia, Mt. Kinabalu, Sabah and celebrate MIA 50th year on the summit.
Climbers will spend a night in Kinabalu Park, Malaysia’s first World Heritage Site declared by UNESCO before commencing the climb the next morning from the Timpohon Gate (1,800m). Climbers will rest at Panalaban (3,273m) and the final climb will take you to the summit of the mountain, Low’s Peak (4,095 metres).
Along the way, view the different variations of flora and fauna found at the different altitudes on the mountain.
